    Clubs & Activities

    Avonmore School offers a variety of clubs, activities and events for students to get involved throughout the school year. Each year, teachers and volunteers from our community are able to provide supervision and coaching in diverse areas of interest, therefore what we offer for extra-curricular changes from year to year.

    In the fall of 2019 we will host an afterschool True North Basketball Academy for Grades 3-6 and two after school programs: offered through Metro Continuing Education- Sports and Movement and Drama Discovery. Additional clubs such as Library Club and Leadership club occur during lunch times. 

    In the Nellie McClung program, students have had opportunities to participate on the Badminton team, Basketball team, Volleyball team, Leadership activities, Bamfield, Extra Curricular days, and Achievement Pep Rallies.

Principal's Message

Welcome to Avonmore! We are a learning community that reflects our slogan, "All Learners/All Teachers/Together.  Our skilled staff provides high quality learning environments across all our programs.  

We are committed to fostering growth and success for every student as they work towards becoming engaged, ethical students with an entrepreneurial spirit. Our inclusive learning team provides in school assessments and curricular supports for students that need the extra support.  

We offer the Nellie L. McClung all girls Junior High (Grades 9) alternative program.  We also offer special needs programming in all our classes and in our Community Living Skills and Behaviour Learning Assistance classes. The regular elementary also serves the students living in the Avonmore community. Additional information about these programs is available under the Programs tab of this website.

We look forward to working together with our parents and community in the 2019-2020 school year.
